Ireland’s Paul Dunne continues to be the hottest golfer on the European Tour, shooting a 5-under 67 on the St. Andrews old course to sit tied atop the leaderboard at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Thursday.
Belgium’s Nicolas Colsaerts shot a 5-under 67 at Kingsbarns to tie Dunne at the top.
Dunne, who emerged victorious at the British Masters just four days ago, would have had the lead outright had he not bogeyed No. 17. He shot a 4-under on the front nine complete with an eagle on No. 9.
Colsaerts’ round was even more improbable. He double-bogeyed No. 3 with a seven, then birdied the next three holes in a row, and four of the next five to hit the turn at 2-under.
He added birdies on 12, 17 and 18.
