Americans 1 Point From Presidents Cup Win

The United States President Cup team heads to Sunday needing just one point to clinch the title. The International Team needs nothing less than the greatest miracle in golf history.

The Americans won six of eight points and halved a seventh on Saturday to take a dominating 14.5-3.5 lead over their International counterparts.

Not a lot of the matchups   have been particularly close. In the morning session on Saturday, Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed defeated March Leishman and Jason Day 4 & 3, and Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar did the same to Adam Hadwin and Adam Scott.

Phil Mickelson continued to excel in the tournament despite his less-than-stellar performance on the PGA Tour. He and Kesin Kisner beat Emiliano Grillo and Jhonattan Vegas 2 & 1. South Africans Branden Grace and Louis Oosthuizen halved with Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler.

The International Team won its only point of the day in the afternoon when Anirban Lahiri and Si Woo Kim defeated Charley Hoffman and Kevin Chappel 1 up.

Reed and Spieth played together in the afternoon and knocked off Oosthuizen and Day 2 & 1.
