Four Tied Atop US Open Leaderboard at 7-under

It’s been a wild two days in Erin Hills, and the best is yet to come.

Four men, none of whom have ever won a Major, sit atop the leaderboard all tied at 7-under.

They are the UK’s Tommy Fleetwood and three Americans – Paul Casey, Brooks Koepka, and Brian Harman.

The men missing the cut were as staggering as the men in the cat bird seat. Gone home after two days? Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day – the top three players in the world by rank. It’s the first time since 1986, that #1-3 in the OGWR all missed a cut at the same Major.

Also gone? Henrik Stenson, Jon Rahm, Alex Noren, Justin Rose, and Adam Scott.

Casey’s 7-under standing was borderline amazing considering he had a triple bogey on the round before notching 5-straight birdies to reach 71. He was the first to finish with a 7-under on the day.

Koepka, Harman, and Fleetwood all had 70s. Day One leader Rickie Fowler shot a 1-over and is a stroke back at 6-under, tied with Jamie Lovemark and J.B. Holmes.

Hideki Matsuyama is the only Top 10 player within two strokes of the lead. He’s at 5-under after a blistering 7-under 65 on Friday. He was 6-under on the front nine for a 30.

Masters champion Sergio Garcia is at 3-under thanks to a 71 after his opening-day 70.

Jordan Spieth is 1-under after shooting a 71.
