The good news: Davis Love III is still spry enough at at age 52 to go snowboarding.
The bad news: His snowboarding accident on Friday will cost him up to three months of golf after he broke his collarbone in three places on Friday in Idaho.
He and son Dru, also a pro golfer, were in Sun Valley, Idaho when the accident happened. Love led the US team to the 2016 Ryder Cup last October. He had planned to start his 2017 season at the Sony Open in Hawaii next week. He had surgery at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, and is expected to begin swinging a golf club again in six weeks.
Love has won 21 PGA Tour titles in his career, including the 1997 PGA Championship.
