Spieth Misses Cut at TPC

Jordan Spieth enthusiasts and the world’s No. 2 player himself insisted there was no connection between his collapse at The Masters last month and a failed attempt at making the cut at The Players Championship this weekend.

Spieth missed the cut by one stroke, shooting 72-71. In his last fives at TPC, he is 4-over. It didn’t help that was paired with world No. 1 Jason Day, who tied the course record with a 63 on Thursday.

Spieth also missed the cut in 2015, but that came a month after winning The Masters and a month before winning the US Open.

Phil Mickelson also missed the cut after a successful start to 2016.
