Jimmy Walker Takes Command at Bridgestone

Almost exactly a year since the biggest win of his professional career, Jimmy Walker has found his A game again.

Walker fired a 5-under 65 to drop to 7-under, taking a 2-stroke lead over Thomas Pieters at the WGC-Bridgestone on Friday.

Pieters, who shot a 65 on Thursday, added an even-par 70 on Tuesday, is at 5-under.

A who’s who of golfers is tied for third at 4-under: two-time Major winner Zach Johnson, 4-time Major winner Rory McIlroy, and world No. 3 Hideki Matsuyama.

Johnson and Matsyuama were both 3-under on the day.

Jordan Spieth is among those tied for sixth at 3-under, four strokes off the lead.

Walker was 3-under through 5-holes and added birdies on 12 and 15 to reach 5-under.
