Woods Struggles, Hoffman Soars at Hero

Tiger Woods  looked human again while Charley Hoffman looked anything but in opening up a lead at the Hero Word Challenge in The Bahamas.

Hoffman shot a 70 on Saturday to take a 5-stroke lead over Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose. High winds cut down on the number of low scores over the first two days of competition.

Wood struggled to a 3-over 75, but most of the field had similar problems, with the average score 72.9 on the day.

“Anything I did right ended up in a bad spot,” Woods said. “Anything I did wrong, it was really bad. It was just one of those days. Have to keep fighting. That’s one thing I’ve done my entire career. Try and post the best number I possibly could.

“It’s ridiculous it took me 14 holes to make a birdie. It’s just one of those days. I fought through it. Tomorrow’s another fight. I didn’t feel like I was that far off … I just ended up in bad spots after good shots.”
