James Hahn and Ricky Barnes share the lead after one round at the Byron Nelson Open, but with the host of luminaries trailing them, how long can it last?
Each American shot a 6-under on Thursday in Dallas. Native Texan Brooks Koepka, the runner-up last year, shot a 67 and is 3-back of the leaders, tied with World No. 1 Dustin Johnson.
Jason Day and Jordan Spieth are both a stroke back of that grouping after firing 68, while defending champion Sergio Garcia looked out of sorts in shooting a 73 that put him tied or 93rd.
It’s a sentimental weekend for many in Irving, which has hosted the event for the past 35 years at TPC Four Seasons. The tournament will move to the new Trinity Forest Golf Club in downtown Dallas next year.
